Escape from Sydney for a day of spectacular scenery, gourmet dining, cable car rides and bushwalks through Jurassic era rainforest. NSW TrainLink takes you from Sydney’s Central Station to Katoomba in just two hours on the Blue Mountains Line.

A seat with sweeping views

As you leave Sydney by train, grab a seat on the left in a Quiet Carriage for the full effect. Then soak up the panoramas over the Glenbrook Gorge, just past Emu Plains, which are only visible as the track hugs the cliff edge – you wouldn’t see them if you were driving! Mountain views continue all the way to Katoomba.

Hop on, hop off the Explorer Bus

Why just get a train ticket when you can get a value-for-money Blue Mountains ExplorerLink ticket? It not only includes return travel from Sydney, it also gives you all-day access to the famous red Explorer Bus.

Hop on at Katoomba Station for a circuit of 29 of the world-famous attractions that have given the Blue Mountains its reputation. You’ll be amazed at how much you can squeeze into a DayScape.

With Opal you can travel to this destination

The Opal card is an easy, convenient way of paying for your travel on public transport including trains, ferries, buses and light rail. It's the only card you'll need to get around. For further information visit the Opal website.

No need to book

You don’t have to book a seat for an Intercity DayScape, just go. Get your train ticket or Blue Mountains Explorer Pass at any Sydney Trains or NSW TrainLink station. The first Explorer Bus runs from Katoomba Station at 9.45am, and the last bus leaves at 5pm. Hop off at Leura or Katoomba for your train trip back to Sydney.
